OFFICIAL WICHITA WAGONMASTERS PEPPER EATING CONTEST RULES

The Wichita Wagonmasters will host a Pepper Eating Contest at The 2025 Wichita Wagonmasters Downtown Chili Cookoff.
RULES
- Contestants must be 18 years or older or have written approval to participate from a parent or legal guardian.
- The contest will begin at 3:15 p.m.
- Participants will need to meet on the West side of the main stage for check-in at 3:00 p.m.
- All contestants must sign a waiver to participate.
- Each contestant will receive a bag of fifteen (15) peppers.
- Types of peppers distributed to contestants will be at the discretion of Sponsor.
- Each contestant may or may not have identical peppers at the discretion of Sponsor.
- Contestants are to eat the most peppers in the two (2) minute time allotted.
- Should a contestant finish eating all fifteen (15) peppers before the two-minute time ends, they will be declared the winner.
- Peppers must be eaten down to within 1/8 inch of the cap to be counted.
- Contestants will be disqualified if unable to keep the pepper(s) down.
- Contestants cannot coat the inside of mouth with any kind of protective coating. Anyone caught will be disqualified.
- Contestants will not be allowed any other foods or beverage during the contest.
- Contestants will be allowed to finish any pepper remaining in mouth when time is called.
- The contestant with the most stems after time is called will be declared the winner.
- Should there be a tie, contestants will compete in a thirty (30) second special pepper competition.
PRIZES
First place will receive $500.00 and trophy
Second place will receive $250.00
Third place will receive $100.00
Last place or first to puke will receive a special trophy
